English As A Second Language

The 2020 Census highlighted that almost 13 percent of Hood County’s population is Hispanic, with a significant portion having limited English proficiency.  In addition, in the last two years, the County has had an influx of Ukrainian immigrants.  Many people need to either learn English or improve their English proficiency.  These programs equip non-English speakers with the language skills needed to effectively participate in the job market.

Classes are taught by the Denton Independent School DistrictFTC facilitates enrollment in these classes.  The curriculum is taught by credentialed instructors.

There is no cost to the participants for this program or for materials.

Registration through Denton Independent School District is required.  Photo identification is also required.
