One of the major factors preventing people from obtaining good jobs is lack of a high school diploma. This Forward Training Center (FTC) program prepares students to pass the State test and obtain a Certificate of High School Equivalency. When a person passes, they receive a certificate that offers the same opportunities as a high school diploma.
Classes are taught by the Denton Independent School District. FTC facilitates enrollment in these classes.
The subjects covered include:
- Reading
- Writing
- Math
- Social studies
- Science
Participants can take all subjects or just the ones they need help with.
Because the class sessions are individualized, each participant can proceed at their own pace.
Registration through Denton Independent School District is required. Photo identification is also required.
